$10 Million Funding for the Digitalisation of India by Google

Sunder Pichai CEO of Google Announced that google invest $10 million dollar for digitalization of India.

Google CEO Sunder Pichai announced  $10 million (₹ 75000 cr. ) fund for the digitalization India in the  Preceding five to seven years. This digitization investment through a mix of equity, investment, partnership and operational , ecosystem & infrastructure . “Mr. Pichai said ” This is a reflection  of  our confidence in the future of India and its digital economy. Focus areas of Investment :

Investment will be focused on four major areas for India’s digitalisation . Provide information for every Indian in their own language,  building new products and services that are deeply relevant to its unique needs.  Empowering business transformation  social good in areas like  Agriculture , health , education. 

On the small medium business Google CEO said only one third of all small medium businesses had online presence before 4 years ago. Today 26 million small medium businesses  are now discoverable,  search & maps more than 150 million user driving every month”.

“ He said ”  Global Pandemic has supercharged the adoption of digital tool,  For example  Digital payments have enabled families across India to access goods and services  during lockdown. 

Prime Minister Narendera modi earlier in the days tweeted about his discussion with Mr. Pichai. 

“ This morning had an extremely fruitful interaction with Sunder pichai, we spoke on a wide range of subjects, particularly leveraging the power of technology to transform the lives of India’s  farmers, youngsters and entrepreneurs ” The PM tweeted.

This is a very significant move by the Indian  government in this pandemic situation  for the growth of the nation.
